Pay to follow the event – On Facebook!

In order to provide small businesses and somewhat larger companies with another way of generating income, Facebook recently launched a new option – payment for events .

Pay to follow the event

As the rules of social distancing are still followed, many businesses and independent creatives have to make contact with their audience via the Internet and try to make money. Thanks to marketing, online video content and online payments, online events can meet the ultimate business needs.

The new option will enable businesses and creatives to charge for online access to their events directly through Facebook .

For now, this option is available in only 20 countries (the list of which you can see at this link ) for pages that meet all the conditions of monetization (content monetization).

For transactions on Android , in countries where Facebook Pay has been introduced, businesses will keep 100% of the revenue they earn from paid events. For users of the IOS operating system, the situation is somewhat different due to the 30% tax that exists within the framework Apple Store . Facebook asked Apple to lower its tax or allow them to offer Facebook Pay, so that they can help all businesses during the Corona virus pandemic. However, from Apple rejected all demands, and small and medium-sized enterprises will be paid 70% of the earned income.

Apple has already been the subject of an investigation for their behavior and payments within the Apple Store-a. Will this situation now lead to certain changes in to Apple, remains to be seen. What is certain, for now, businesses will not be able to take all 100% of the income they earn from online events, unless they redirect all their customers to pay through the web or Android devices.

This type of providing earning opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses is just one more in a series of many, with which large companies like Facebook are trying to help businesses make money and survive during the Corona virus pandemic.
