September Core Update<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

The September 2022 update is a classic Core Update \u2013 a global update that is not specific to any region, language or website category. The goal of such updates is to make Google better at evaluating content and determining which pages provide the best answers to user queries.<\/a><\/span> These changes can lead to improvements for previously underrewarded pages, meaning that some websites may experience an increase, while others will experience a decrease in their SERP position and therefore their traffic. <\/span><\/p>\n

While Google changes its search algorithms daily, they release Core Updates several times a year. These updates contain significant, broad changes to Google’s search algorithms and systems to ensure that they offer relevant and authoritative content to searchers. Are the Helpful content update and the September Core Update related?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Of course, one of the first questions that came to mind is whether the August HCU and the September Core Update are related. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to Google’s Danny Sullivan, there was no connection between the two updates. The reason for the Core Update is simply that it needed to be released. Danny said that Google is able to roll out multiple updates at the same time, which would mean they could release the Core Update at the same time as the HCU and not mention the HCU at all. <\/span><\/p>\n
