This is an important change because Google Analytics is the foundation of how we measure and analyze data. Although you may think you have time, it is important    <\/span> start <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitizer.rs\/en\/news-stories\/how-to-set-up-google-analytics-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the process<\/span><\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as soon as possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>A little more about the GA4 version of Google Analytics<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest version of analytics brings<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitizer.rs\/en\/news-stories\/what-news-does-google-analytics-4-bring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">several novelties<\/span><\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as changing the interface, monitoring events, available reports&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">The new update offers innovative user tracking, without invading user privacy. Google stores data for 26 months back, which is exactly why it is important to save all data from the previous year 2021 when you make the transition.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>How to start the transition?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">To start the transition you need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">       <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sign in to your Google Analytics account<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">       <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on the Admin tab and select the desired account and<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">property<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">       <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on GA4 Setup Assistant, the first option in the &#8220;Property&#8221; column<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">You must do this by the beginning of July 2023 at the latest, after that, if GA4 is not set up, you will not see any traffic on your site or app. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Since the GA4 version is a completely new product and displays data differently than the current version, you will not have historical data when you set it up. Data collection in GA4 only starts when you activate the GA4 property in your account. Regarding data retention limits, GA4 has a maximum retention of 14 months.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Tracking events in GA4<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Previously, event tracking required you to set up Google Tag manager or add various codes to your site.
