Facebook remains a dominant force in the digital marketing landscape, with over 2.9 billion monthly…
It is known that Instagram is constantly working on improving the user experience and often surprises us with some new addition that can be useful to all users. Mostly it’s a positive change because a platform like Instagram does a lot of research into user needs before introducing a new option within the platform.
Live Stream Schedules
We recently received great news from Instagram , and you can find out what exactly it is in the rest of the blog.
Instagram has added a new in-app option to schedule live engagements. In addition to the fact that the user will be able to share the scheduled live in the form of a post, followers will be able to include a reminder in the post to receive a notification on the day of the live broadcast.
The user will be able to schedule a live inclusion up to 90 days in advance from the Live composer, which can include a description of the live , as well as product tags (if the user has and promotes them) that open a new possibility that you will read below .
You can see exactly what it looks like in the post below.
Encouraging live stream purchases
What Instagram actually wants to develop is live product shopping – live stream shopping events, that is, encouraging and increasing purchases within the platform. Tik Tok is also exploring the same possibility, after achieving success with live shopping in China.
Live trade in China has experienced so much popularity that in less than 5 years it has transformed into a retail industry and proved to be a major sales channel. In a 2020 survey, two-thirds of Chinese consumers said they had purchased products via live stream.
The potential for this way of selling is huge and that’s why Instagram and Tik Tok want to seize a part of the future market in time. It is estimated that online sales could account for 10-20% of all online shopping by 2026. ( McKinsey ).
The new option of scheduling live on Instagram prepares the ground for the aforementioned possibility. Users can set a reminder within the live announcement to get ready to buy.
Maybe this doesn’t seem like a big discovery at the moment, but after all the above, this possibility could mark the beginning of a big novelty in online commerce.
