During this year, and especially since the beginning of June, Google presents us with many changes that will affect the search and optimization of websites and the content found on them. One of these novelties is a new option in GSC called Search Console Insights, which is designed to help website owners better understand their audience . This option combines data from Search Console and Google Analytics in a joint effort to make it easier to understand the performance of your content.

Search Console Insights

Search Console Insights is designed to help website owners understand what content is being received well by their audience and how that audience is finding it. In this way, useful information is obtained that can be used for better optimization of both the site itself and the content on the site. Site owners can now find data that will help them make more informed decisions and change and adjust their content.

“Search Console Insights is a new experience tailored for content creators and publishers that can help them understand how audiences discover their site’s content and what resonates well with their audience. This new experience is powered by data from Google Search Console and Google Anayitics,” according to official website.

Site owners can access Search Console Insights via the newly introduced link at the top of the Overview page. According to announcements, it will soon be available from the Google application for iOS , and support for the Android application is planned.

What does the data in Search Console Insights tell us?

The data in Search Console Insights will help website owners answer questions like:

  • What is the best performing and trending content?
  • How are people discovering your content?
  • What are people searching for on Google before visiting the content on your site?
  • Which article refers users to your site and content?

The introduction of this novelty in the Seach Console is followed by the recently launched Page Experience update , which is part of a large package of updates implemented by Google this year. The emphasis is especially on the Core Update , which was implemented in June and July this year.

Search Console Insights can be used without Google Analytics, although it is necessary to connect the two to get the full experience. Insights has been in testing for almost a year and will be gradually rolled out to all Search Console users in the coming days.
