7 Instagram tricks you might not know about

Instagram often brings some news. Within the platform, some small things are worked on every day, which are implemented later, and which users may not even notice at times. Sometimes it’s small things, and sometimes it’s bigger changes that bring a better experience on this popular social network.

7 great Instagram tricks

In our new blog, we bring you 7 Instagram tricks and hidden features that you may not have known about, and we believe that at least a few of them will be interesting to you.

1. Changing the Instagram icon on the phone

Did you know you can change the Instagram icon on your phone?

Instagram surprised users on the occasion of its 10th birthday and provided this (we don’t know why) hidden option. It can be accessed by clicking on Settings and swiping down several times. These interesting icons are displayed that lead to the gift icon. We do not know how long this possibility will be available, but it is interesting that you can choose between as many as 13 types of Instagram icons. Try it, it’s interesting.

2. How to view someone’s Story secretly?

If you ever wanted to look at someone’s story without that person knowing that you looked, there is an interesting option. The limitation is that you cannot view the story directly on the desired profile, but only within the feed, when the story appears in the familiar, upper part.

When you see a story on the Feed that you want to watch, but the person does not see your profile in their views, you need to do the following. You click on the story that is in front of the Story you want to watch and drag your finger to the desired story without letting go of the screen. That way you can see what it’s all about. It is true that you cannot watch the Story video this way. You can see what it looks like in the picture below.

3. How to hide a profile post without deleting it?

Have you ever wanted to delete a certain post from your profile but weren’t 100% sure whether to do it? There is an option that can hide the post from the profile, but it will remain in the archive and you can return it to the profile at any time. You need to click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post and when the window opens, just click on Archive . You can find that post in the better-known Story archive. You only need to switch from the story archive to the post archive.

4. Color the Story as you wish

There are more and more opportunities to express creativity on Instaram stories. Both through various Story stickers (of which there are more and more), and through a lot of hidden creative ideas, which you might not have known about. In this blog we present one of them.

Once you’ve chosen the photo you want to post, click the “scratch” icon next to the text icon (Aa). Then you choose the color you want in the lower part. That color, as you probably know, can also be a specific color from a photo. After selecting a color, click on the photo, hold your finger for two seconds and the entire surface will turn into the color you selected. Now you can e.g. select the eraser in the upper corner and make a certain pattern on the photo. You can see an illustration of the above in the next photo.

5. Story archive by location

Although there has been an archive of stories for a long time and we can easily review all our stories and get to the one we published, for example. last year, recently it is possible to view all archived Stories by location. You can see what it looks like in the photo below.

6. Posts you’ve liked

If you want to have an overview of all the posts you’ve ever liked, you can find them all in one place via Settings – Account – Posts you’ve liked.

7. Alt text on the photo

Alt text is used to help the Instagram algorithm understand what is in the photo. Instagram uses certain photo recognition technology to “see” what is actually in it. This technology helps Instagram show your post to more people who like your type of content. With alt text, you also give the algorithm a textual explanation of what’s in the photo and it becomes even more powerful and useful in helping you grow organically. Although he loves it most of all when you sponsor posts.
